Prof. Thazin Than is a Professor and Senior Consultant Radiologist at the 500 Bedded Specialty Hospital in Yangon, Myanmar. She earned her M.B.,B.S, M.Med.Sc, and Dr.Med.Sc degrees from the University of Medicine (1), Yangon. She completed fellowship trainings in Interventional Radiology at Singapore General Hospital, Anam Hospital (Korea), and MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA). With over 15 years of experience, Prof. Than has worked at major hospitals across Myanmar and is currently practicing interventional procedures and diagnostic imaging at Yangon Specialty Hospital. She is actively involved in training residents, teaching medical students, and delivering scientific lectures. Her research includes cranial meningoencephaloceles and rectal carcinoma imaging. She has presented on topics such as Women in IR and transarterial embolization for soft tissue tumors. Prof. Than is a member of several professional societies, including RSNA, APSCVIR, and the Myanmar Radiological Society.
